About the author

Duke Ellington School of the Arts and Howard University helped shape Sheila Mae’s artistic training while she was growing up in Washington, D.C., where she studied acting, theater, and voice across the D.C.–Maryland–Virginia area. She later secured principal roles in two independent films, appeared as an extra in several major movies, and performed in theater at Prince George’s Community College.

Now retired from law enforcement, she is an actress, singer, and author.
